Starting in business in 2007 with only one truck, Greg Mitchell Cartage has been serving the Darfield and wider Canterbury area for 10 years. Suppling General freight and Bulk cartage of Grain, Bailage, Hay, Roading materials, Coal, Fertilizer, Timber, & Stock food e.t.c with the ability to transport products nationwide

Greg has over 30 years experience in the transport industry, and knows the value of providing a reliable standard of service to his customers, offering competitive rates. He has a friendly team of staff that take pride in their work.

Greg Mitchell Cartage has a NZ Transport Agency ORS five star rating which has been achieved by maintaining its vehicles to a safe and presentable standard.

J Swap Contractors Ltd is a 4th generation family business that’s been based in Matamata for over 80 years, and now has over 120 road trucks and other business interests.    J Swap began supplying stock feed from Christchurch in 2005.  As their South Island business grew, Greg was able to assist with distribution to meet customer demands. 

After working closely together for several years Greg Mitchell Cartage Contractor Ltd and J Swap Contractors Ltd joined forces in 2014 when J Swap Contractors purchased a 50% share of Greg Mitchell Cartage to meet the needs of a growing market. 

With the support of J Swap Contractors, Greg Mitchell Cartage Contractor Ltd is positioned to scale up for larger jobs and projects if required, and is well prepared to meet the growing customer demands.
